Alexander will enlighten you about deal flow at investment firms, how start-ups are evaluated in the seed stage, and how to get start-ups ready to move from the seed stage to an A round.

Matias will take you beyond the seed stage. He will talk about how start-ups get ready to become scalable ventures and will tell you all about hot topics in the investment world nowadays.

Alexander currently holds the position of Business Creation Officer at EIT InnoEnergy and is responsible for the investments done in innovative and entrepreneurial start-ups within the Benelux. His career started some 25 years ago in project finance of large scale renewable energy projects. Following the rise of the Cleantech industry, he moved on to participate in a number of entrepreneurial spin-outs with a key focus on emerging markets. With a background as an economist, hands-on knowledge of venture finance and venture capital, and experience in starting enterprises he is driven to accelerate and impact the current energy transition.
Matias is the Portfolio Manager of InnoEnergy, responsible for managing its overall equity portfolio. He has been with InnoEnergy since February 2015. Prior to that, he was Investment Director at CX Capital, managing a portfolio of over 200M€ of private equity positions and listed securities. Before that he had an extensive career in banking, holding positions at Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers in London and New York. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, the CFA certification and an Engineering degree from UPC (Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Spain).
